The creative practice explored the underlying tensions forged by colonial relationships. We examined how creative arts can mediate complex historical relationships, and more specifically how performance, as both method and event, can help us understand the significance of the Khasi-Welsh relationship in the present, from Khasi, Indian and Welsh perspectives.

Performing Journeys includes poetry by Khasi poet Esther Syiem. Esther Syiem is Professor of English at the English Department at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. Her teaching specialises in American fiction, modern literature and folk literature and she is a renowned Khasi poet and author.
